Sydney Maritime Museum.
The Sydney Maritime Museum (not to be confused with the National one, also in Sydney) is the oldest of the Sydney maritime museums and Home of the James Craig.

Art Gallery of New South Wales.
The Art Gallery is only a short walk from the city centre. Entry to the gallery is free, though an entry fee may be charged for some of the temporary exhibitions. For a good introduction to the gallery, join one of the free tours - check at the information desk on the entry level for details.

Powerhouse.
On the edge of Darling Harbour, the Powerhouse Museum is Australia 's largest and most exciting museum. It houses 25 dazzling displays of decorative arts, technology and social history. Open daily 10am-5pm.

Contemporary Art.
Located in the Rocks, this museum offers work by contemporary Australian artists from television, film, video, laser, paintings, sculpture and other forms of visual expression. Great cafe and gift shop. Open 11am-6pm daily. Guided tours 12pm, 1pm and 2pm daily.
